How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Advent is the time before Christmas: we prepare, but we also work, enjoy long evenings with the family, do our sports, our other hobbies...

This is a Meet & Greet, please attend from 18h30 to 19h00 at Halles Saint-Géry. We want to meet, talk about the newest and best geocaching experiences, newcomers welcome!, meet friends, sign the event logbook, exchange trackables, ...

Afterwards (not mandatory to log this event as attended), you may want to stay for a special pre-Christmas CICO: everybody who brings a cache box to the meeting and wants to participate is eligible: you bring a cache, we put it in a lottery, and everybody who has brought a cache will draw a lucky lot and get another cache box. [The name of the activity is CICO, somebody in the team calls it CHICO (we love diversity, though!), an other way of saying is BOGOS (bring one, get one -surprise!).

You will place and publish this cache box in the next few weeks and report back to everybody at the January or February meeting of 'It's a tradition now' normally at the same location.

So if you like the idea, please bring a cache box, no matter if you bought it or if you produced it. A simple tupper box with a logbook and a pencil, a magnetic nano, a PETling or a filmcanister, an ammo box or a self-built birdhouse with solar panels and electric/electronic applications - all is welcome! Your cache box should be ready to be placed somewhere, so include at least a box and a logbook. If possible, include a pen, geocaching instructions, some SWAG for trading, and trackables for travelling.

And be prepared, this is a lottery, so don't complain if the value of the cache your receive is different to the one that you have brought.

What we want you to do then is work on an idea, prepare the listing, and get your cache (with the acquainted box) placed and published, if possible within the limits of the outer ring of Brussels, but if you are coming from Luxembourg, a placement in Luxembourg is fine, and if you are coming from Mars, who knows?

Please place your will attend so we know how many people we can expect. Any consumption at the Halles of Saint-Géry is at everybody's own expenses. The same if you want to do a stroll with us afterwards to the Christmas Market on Place Sainte Catherine, do some ice skating and/or do the ferris wheel (what a pity we cannot log a T5 there...)
