Geocache Description:

(English version below)

Lasst uns den Frieden feiern von 12-12:30 Uhr MEZ (11-11:30 Uhr London GMT)  / Let's celebrate peace noon-12:30 pm Dresden time (11-11:30 am London GMT).

Wieso eigentlich nicht mal den Frieden feiern?

Remembrance Day (auch Poppy Day, Armistice Day oder Veterans Day) wird jeden 11.

..........

Remembrance Day (also known as Poppy Day, Armistice Day or Veterans Day) is a memorial day observed on 11 November in Commonwealth countries to recall the official end of World War I on that date in 1918, as the major hostilities of World War I were formally ended after the Germans signed the Armistice in the morning, and to remember the members of their armed forces who have died on duty since World War I.

On this day each year the tradition includes either one or two minutes of silence at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month (11 am, 11 November), as that marks the time (in the UK) when armistice became effective. The red poppy has also become a familiar emblem of Remembrance Day. These wild flowers were the first plants to grow in the churned-up soil of soldiers' graves in Belgium and northern France. Little else could grow in the blasted soil that became rich in lime from the rubble. Their red colour were first signs of life and renewal and today is a symbol for the blood spilt in the war. In 1915 it inspired Canadian doctor John McCrae to pen perhaps the most famous wartime poem, "In Flanders fields":  In Flanders fields the poppies blow / Between the crosses, row on row...

(Voluntary task:) Please bring along (preferably homemade) red poppies. Any size or shape or number or level of abstractness will do.
Given the significance of the day and time, it probably isn't appropriate to have a chatty geocaching event but I hope to keep a minute of silence at 12:00 Dresden time (11:00 am London GMT)

During World War I the building of "Militärhistorisches Museum" served as an arsenal for weapons and military equipment. Nowadays the museum highlights the terror of war. On Mondays admission is free from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Public Transport: stop "Stauffenbergallee", Trams 7 and 8 and Bus 64
