Second only to "Amazing Grace, I think... "It's the kind of song that has two unique and distinct qualities: it tells a story, and it has lyrics that mean something.... -- Roberta Flack

The History of Serial Killer Park - Part 1

The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face

For the longest time, Trenmar Park , just outside Trenton, ON, has had a secret name and history, known only by a small group of people. After doing some exhaustive research, I can confirm there is some truth to the name ; Serial Killer Park.

This sordid story first began in the late 1950s; when the song "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" was released by a little known singer Peggy Seeger. While this version isn't particularly well known, it did inspire someone here in Trenton; even if inspire isn't the most appropriate word.

The first victim, Anna Beale was found outside the park on the other side of the city. In her belongings, a 45 rpm copy of Seeger’s version of the song was found. Obviously the police thought nothing of it at the time. That changed, some time later, when there were more victims in the summer of 1972.

March 1972, the first victim, Jeri Book, was found in Trenmar Park. Roberta Flack’s version had been released just days before. Yet once again, a copy of Flack’s version had was found with the victim. This was repeated two more times that summer. Then just like that, Trenmar Park became quiet once again.

Sadly, these crimes have never been solved. But this is where I’m hoping you can help. I understand you have some pretty good puzzle solving skills. If not, I'm going to have to find a Genius to help me with the one clue that no one has been able to figure out. This was found on the final victim.
