About Wendover Station
When it was opened back in 1892 Wendover Station was still part of the Metropolitan Line following an extension of that line into Aylesbury Town (now simply known as Aylesbury). At the beginning of the 1960s following the electrification of part of the line a decision was made to end the Metropolitan Line at Amersham and the remaining stations were transferred to the Main Line.
Later in the 1960s the line beyond Aylesbury was closed although we're now beginning to see that being reopened and "East/West Rail" ought to provide services to Oxford and Milton Keynes within the next decade.
Currently run using diesels by Chiltern Railways. at peak times there are up to four trains per hour towards London in the morning, and returning from London (towards Aylesbury) in the evening. Some of these are express services, which skip the stops shared with the Metropolitan line nearer to London.
Journeys to Marylebone take about 50 minutes (40 minutes for express trains). Journeys to Aylesbury take about 10 minutes.
Given these caches are designed to be done quickly please count how many blue lanterns are fixed to the outside wall of the station, consider this 'W'
