Placed to celebrate Church Micro Day 2018
Christ Church on Moreton Hall is a yellow-brick building in the Suffolk vernacular style. It sits on a square corner beside a small supermarket. It was founded by all the Christian denominations in Bury St. Edmunds in 1985 and forms part of the diocese of St. Edmundsbury and Ipswich.
This isn't the most attractive or traditional looking church, but it is one that serves a purpose. The Moreton Hall estate forms a large part of the housing for Bury St Edmunds and was a 'planned community' built in the 1980s & 1990s, this church was built to serve that community.
The website for the Church, and the Suffolk Churches website, contain more details of the history that led to the creation of Christ Church
