Coffee from Guatemala can be the perfect balance of full bodied, strong and sweet with a gentle acidity and complex flavour notes.
Some parts of the area go as high as 2000m above sea level these popular coffees aroma tend toward citrus, fruits and spices.

In 1962 there was an outbreak of civil war in the area all for fights of power. Entire villages where wiped out by the millatary. This resulted in almost 200,000 deaths and a society in which violence, distrust of government and law, and a culture of fear continued to this day. The accomplishment of the peace agreements was that they brought an end to the longest war in America. this continue to define Guatemala's coffee economy.
Makes me think of local wars and what positive outcomes await us all...
