Geocache Description:

A Geocache that was Archived almost 10 years ago which I stumbled across and enjoyed doing. A reasonably short walk with a bit of a climb to GZ but lovely views over Chesham

Start at the War Memorial in Chesham Broadway (N51 42.370 W000 36.740)

Take a look at all the names on the main Memorial for the First World War 1914-18.

How many Birches are there ? This will give A
How many Batchelors are there ? This will give B
How many Adams are there ? This will give C
How many Darvells are there ? This will give D
How many Laceys are there ? This will give E
How many Humphreys are there ? This will give F
Now you're ready for the waypoint that will give you the final clue.

Go to N51 42.ABC W000 36.(D+2)EF

You should be standing in front of a Memorial to someone known by many locally who died near this spot.

Ok. On to the Cache.....

Look at the year of his death.

The last figure gives you G
The second figure gives you H
The month of the year gives you I
The first number of the date gives you J
The month of the year gives you K
The last but one number in the year gives you L

The Final is at N51 42.GH(I+2) W000 36.JKL Prepare yourself for a Steep Walk, but halfway up, turn around and take in the View (best on a nice day), Enjoy !

Please respect the Farmer's Fields and stick to the footpaths. Please resist the temptation to go "As the crow flies". Sometimes the path is not too obvious. After the second stile go directly across the field keeping the tree just to the right till you reach the Hedgerow, turn right and follow the path till you find a second Kissing Gate.
Choices and Decisions, Do you go through the Kissing gate or do you not?

If you enjoy this one why not backtrack a few yards and head across the field back down to Chesham, cross the railway and try ‘The Philanthropic Find’

Please be careful when you get close to the bottom of the tree covered path on the way to the railway, as there is quite a drop on the right-hand side behind a low wall. Might be advisable to hold your childrens hands!
