Geocache Description:

NoVAGO 2018

This cache route will be at least 1 mile roundtrip -- nearly all of it along a flat, paved trail, making it quite suitable for strollers, tricycles, bicycles, scooters, and the like. There is also a playground and open spaces along the way. You will visit 7 preliminary stages, where you’ll gather numerical clues, 2 intermediate stages, where you will need to do some fun things, and the final stage, whose location is not yet known to you.

You don't need to know anything about the SURVIVOR18 series to do this cache.

What a terrible day!  Morning traffic, spilled coffee, late for meeting, annoyed boss … forgotten homework, botched math test, skinned knee, falling out with best friend … missed deadline, afternoon traffic, late for soccer practice, check engine light, burnt dinner … Everyone in your tribe was in a foul mood.

Flipping through the day’s mail, a plain white envelope from “Prize Headquarters” catches your eye. Third and final notice … collect clues at a list of coordinates (surprisingly close by) … follow some instructions ... a prize selected just for you ... Sounds like a scam. The last time you fell for something like this, you ended up in a trashy patch of woods, covered in spider webs and mosquito bites, only to find a broken Tupperware container with a soggy wad of paper and a couple of moldy crayons.

But then again, could the day get any worse?

With prize letter in hand, you set off on this expedition through suburbia…

Preliminary Stages

Stage 1 - N 38° 43.830' W 77° 16.578'
The number of letters on the bottom line of the sign is A.

Stage 2 - N 38° 43.885' W 77° 16.626'
The old wooden fence post just to the east/right of the path has a number on it. Subtract 3 and the result is B.

Stage 3 - N 38° 43.923' W 77° 16.683'
The number inside the concrete culvert is C.

Stage 4 - N 38° 43.927' W 77° 16.700'
“Non-marking tennis shoes are required on the courts” is rule D.

Stage 5 - N 38° 43.875' W 77° 16.737'
On one of the guy wires, the number of red wire loops is the odd number E.

Stage 6 - N 38° 43.830' W 77° 16.764'
On the 3 foot tall utility box, the top right number (black on orange) is F.

Stage 7 - N 38° 43.798' W 77° 16.784'
At about knee-high on this pole, the number of clustered nails is the odd number G.

CHECKSUM: The sum of A through G is 30. (Don't screw up B.)

Intermediate Stages

Follow the instructions found 2-3 feet off the ground, using the numbers you just gathered.
