Geocache Description:


War Memorial #536 ~ Pampisford

The memorial is to be found in the grounds of St John the Baptist Parish Church, Pamisford west of the south porch by Church Lane. It takes the form of a limestone cross in Mabeau style with an octagonal shaft and plinth mounted on a single step base. The names and the inscription are to be found on the plinth. There are 12 names listed for World War 1 and four for World War 2. The memorial was unveiled circa 1920 the monies being raised by public sponsorship, Designed by R Blomfield (1856-1942). It is a Grade II listed monument.
