Payback time for The National Trust's kind support of the Geolympix and caching at Ashridge in general.
Please join us for The Big Tidy on 'CITO Sunday'!
Where: Starting from the hill overlooking Ivinghoe Beacon, at the given co-ords. Parking is adjacent, to the south. Please note there are no public toilets in the area. It's been chosen as it's a high foot-fall area which does produce litter, but litter-picking across the entire site and whole weekend is encouraged.
When: 11am-1pm GMT, Sunday, October 28th 2018.
Or 11:00-13:00 28/10/18 if you prefer. Note the clocks go back at 2am this Sunday morning so please be sure to arrive at the right time 😎
What: A site-wide litter-pick with the support of the National Trust. Ashridge is a huge estate and since it attracts thousands of visitors per week, litter is an issue. Please bring your own grabber/gloves/bag if possible although the NT will be supplying some too.
Why: To give something back to the National Trust for their kind help and support. The Ashridge Estate has hosted Geocaches since January 2001 and Geocachers since February 3rd 2001, and has provided facilities to the Geolympix Megas for free since 2016. Picking up litter seems the least the caching community can do in return!
Who: Cachers from far and wide. If you have your own litter-picking kit - grabber, gloves, bag/s - please bring it as there won't be unlimited kit provided by the NT.
How: Just turn up and help out. Bags can be left in the pile at the side of the car park to be collected by the NT rangers 👍
