The cach is located down by the shore, the best way is to park your car at the Sheep farming museum and walk from there. You walk in the direction to Hólmavík by the shore. After a while you pass a line of rocks coming up from the ocean, when you get to the bridge you have gone to far. Find the driftwood pile that is tied together and half standing up and you'll find the cach.
Most of the driftwood in Iceland comes all the way from Siberia, it is up to 5 years on it's way here to Iceland. It was really important before to the people in this area and all the fence posts you'll see around here are made from driftwood. The wood is great for building.
Here there is a beautiful birdlife during summer, so the walk is great for birdwatching and enoying the nice and quiet and nature in all it's beauty. The eiderducks have nests there, the black guillimo, oyster catcher and the artic sterna so if it's june, july or august you might see some nests, eggs or baby birds (and their aggressive mothers).

Original cach contains logbook and a pen, a letter and beautiful treasures found at the beach: crabshell, blue shells and driftwood, as a gift for the first finder.
