Mikawa-Takahama station is located in the central part of Takahama City. Mikawa-Takahama station opened at Meitetsu Mikawa Line in 1918. The station building was rebuilt in 1994 as an elevated station, built on an overpass above the platforms and tracks.

「いきいき広場」は「福祉と健康でまちづくり」を進めるため、平成８年４月、名鉄三河高浜駅前に開設した高浜市の福祉の拠点です。「いきいき広場」には福祉の総合窓口のほか、市民サービス窓口、いきいき広場出張所、介護・福祉機器ショールーム、マシンスタジオや多様化、複雑化する市民のみなさんの困りごとやニーズに応えられるように、これまでの２階に加え、新たに３階も含めた運営へ、赤ちゃんから高齢者までの幅広い福祉・健康づくり・まちづくりの拠点として生まれ変わりました。三河高浜駅は三高と呼ばれ市民に親しまれて、駅西口のアーチ型連絡橋は立体駐車場とエレベーターで接続されてバリア・フリーとなっています。
