A new kind of code plus a cache! Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Eagle Scout 426: Archived and Removed Today.
Maintenance check today and decided it was time to archive it.

The location has been completely torn down and has some construction happening.

Fortunately the container and hiding spot were in a pile to the side. Likely a pile of "trash" to be cleared as the construction progresses?

Removed the container and logbook. There are 7 names in the logbook and 6 online (all of which matches since the one is tagged as blondecache who appears to have deleted their geocaching account). Final logbook photo is attached.

Thanks for finding it and my other caches.

Geocache Description:

Posted coordinates are fake.
It is only an intersection that is a bit of a distance from the final, so don't go there.

A few months ago while exploring, I came across a string of characters that is linked to a geographic location. "Interesting concept." I thought, and then immediately thought "how can this be made into a geocache?"

Now you are probably thinking that I am crazy since civilization already has the concept of a location linked to text and we use it all the time. We have physical locations linked such as a street address and we have digital text locations such as IP addresses. There are even social constructs of location in which a word suggests a place although the word itself does not indicate the location such as "school" or "church" or "work." (This one is more abstract. Unlike an address tied to a location, the example of "school" is tied to a sphere of learning instead of a specific location which is why we all have different images of "school" regardless if it was a one room school building, a huge building complex, at home, or in the a work field. Fortunately, this does not relate to the puzzle it is just a interesting idea). Probably the most common form all around the world and with geocachers is simple coordinates. Regardless of how it works, the modern world can simply identify a place and define it's location by our description of it.

Yet this new string simplifies our addresses and coordinates into ten characters that define a region that is nearly 46feet x 46feet (14meters x 14 meters). Fortunately, it is also possible to make the string more accurate by adding an optional 11th character. When added, this region becomes roughly 9feet x 9feet (3meters x 3meters). Interestingly, it can be further abbreviated (down to 6 characters) when the specific region is located near a town or city without losing accuracy.

Pretty neat idea since most addresses are really long compared to that. (Think of how many characters are in your address with house number, street name, city, state, and zip code). And it is shorter then the standard coordinate format which is about 17 characters long (numbers plus N and W for north and west).

And while it is interesting, I don't think it will become a standard concept that we use in the world. But of course we can use it for geocaching! So I took this location concept and created a puzzle that uses the 11 characters and a bonus 12th item (to make the puzzle more interesting). It could be numbers, letters, or symbols. Find the solution or the missing variable and put it all together to get the cache location. If you find the right code, that will be a big plus!

About the cache:

Keep an eye on any children or pets since it is located on public property near a fairly busy intersection. There is limited parking within 15 feet or so of the cache.
***Note: The area is very exposed and is easily observed. Therefore, be careful when retrieving and replacing.

Do not post the answer or solution in your log.

Bring a pen.You must sign the log to claim the find. No exceptions, and no excuses. Blank logs may be deleted without notice. Avoid the use of acronym only logs and cut 'n paste logs.

Congrats to Paintballvet18 for the first to find.
