The Gunlogson Nature Preserve is North Dakota's first dedicated state nature preserve. In 1963, these 200 acres of lowland woods were donated by G.B. Gunlogson and is home to many different species of plants and animals, including the Showy Lady's Slipper. The bridge within the nature preserve crosses the Tongue River and provides an excellent spot for observing nature. The rest of the preserve can be accessed via the three miles of well maintained hiking trails.

To access the park and the geocache, a daily pass, annual pass, or NENDHA membership is required.
