Geocache Description:

in partnership with

Friends of Beaubears Island

Where: 35 St. Patrick’s Drive, Nelson-Miramichi / Beaubears Island

When: Saturday July 28th, 2018. 1pm to 3pm

Why: To give you a chance to collect some terrain 5 geocaches and explore this hidden gem of an island here in New Brunswick.

For the first time ever, Cache Up NB and the folks from Beaubears Island are teaming up to introduce new geocaches to this great little island.

A series of geocaches will bee released for this event and attendees of this event will be the first to find these terrain 5 caches.

There is no coin associated to this event this year but if the event and caches do well, we're hoping for one for next year.

This event coincides with their annual picnic out on the island.

Friends of Beaubears Island will re-create one of the famous picnics held on the Island in the years after shipbuilding. Just bring your appetite, and we'll see to the rest.

Alongside noted figures from the Island's past will be other guests in 19th century dress. As an added attraction, a photographer will be engaged to photograph visitors, providing you and yours with a cherished keepsake from this memorable event.

We encourage cachers from all over the province who are able to come to this event to check it and the new caches out. We are hoping to create a yearly program for this great spot.

There is a $5 fee to take the ferry over to the island.
