This event will start at 7:30pm on an island at the posted coords. Plan your paddling time accordingly so you will arrive when the event starts. My best guess is to give yourself about 30 minutes from the public boat launch to the island.
At 8pm there will be a group photo & we will have a drawing to award 1 boater with a prize for having decorated their boat using battery operated Christmas lights & whatever else your imagination decides.
Immediately after that we will go on a night paddle of Pawtuckaway that is planned to end around 11pm, give or take. You may stay with the group or explore on your own. I recommend using boats without a propeller because the water can be very shallow & Pawtuckaway Lake has many rocks to dodge. Please clear your vessel of any possible invasive plants.
Things you will want to bring: GPS, bug spray, flashlight/headlamp, swimsuit & towel.
Permission has been granted for parking after hours at the boat launch. If you are using this area I highly suggest you place a GEOCACHING EVENT sign on your windshield. The Police Dept may travel through during the event time & will be looking for these signs to show you have permission to be parked after hours. You must park appropriately or risk being responsible for fines. Participation in this event is at your own risk.
