[RO] Este poate cel mai reprezentativ cimitir al oraşului Timişoara, şi cu o istorie ce îl face recunoscut în întreagă ţara. Mulţi oameni şi-au găsit locuri de veci în acest cimitir, printre care şi oameni cu mult curaj, eroi ai naţiunii noastre, generali, ofiţeri, aviatori, dar şi pictori, actori de teatru şi film, poeţi şi scriitori. Cimitirul Eroilor, încearcă să menţină onoarea pe care şi-a căpătat-o de-a lungul aniilor.
În Cimitrul Eroilor se află şi monumentul ridicat în memoria celor căzuţi în revoluţia din 1989, de către asociaţia “Memorialul revoluției 16-22 decembrie 1989″. Acest complex memorial a fost ridicat între anii 1990 şi 1999. Pe lângă el sunt mai multe monumente simbolice. În față lui o flacără ce arde, atât pe ploaie cât şi pe zăpada şi pe care nici vântul nu o poate stinge, cum nici eroii nu au putut fi opriți în acel decembrie negru.
În cimitir sunt înhumaţi şi 24 de militari francezi care făceau parte din Divizia 17 Orientală, sub comanda generalului Franchet d’Esperey, care au murit în timpul Primului Război Mondial. Divizia franceză s-a aflat în Timişoara între 1918-1920, pentru a asigura liniştea până s-a decis soarta Banatului în urma Conferinţei de Pace de la Paris. Militarii francezii au supravhegeat retragerea armatei sârbe –care a ocupat Banatul după armistiţiu, şi sosirea trupelor româneşti.
Tot în Cimitirul Eroilor mai sunt morminte ale ostaşilor sovietici şi sârbi, căzuţi în cel de al doilea război mondial în luptele împotriva fasciştilor, pentru oraşul Timişoara.

In the cemetery are also buried 24 French soldiers who were part of the Eastern Division 17 under the command of General Franchet d'Esperey, who died during the First World War. The French division was in Timisoara between 1918 and 1920 to ensure peace until the fate of Banat after the Paris Peace Conference, was decided. French soldiers overcame the withdrawal of the Serbian army - which occupied Banat after the armistice, and the arrival of the Romanian troops.
Also in the Heroes' Cemetery there are tombs of the Soviet soldiers and Serbs, fallen in the Second World War in the battles against the fascists, for the city of Timisoara.
