This tranquil wood is at the start of an alternative route up to the top of Bray Head. It's flanked on one side by a golf course and the other by farmers' fields.
When I was growing up, I knew this wood as the 'back of Bray Head', although it's not really. Along some of the trails, you can see the remains of a stone road, and my mother informed me this was laid down in advance of a visit to the area by Queen Victoria. She said the monarch never arrived in Bray because she became too sick to travel. Despite alot of searching, I haven't been able to find any more details about this, but the remains of a road are undeniable and you will see them as you walk to the cache.
The Cache is a small sized lock & lock with enough room for swaps and TBs.
