When someone gives you your favorite type of geocache container (hint: it's metal and used for projectile weapons) at an event, it is obvious that it is meant for a new geocache. When they also tell you how much they enjoy your letterboxes, it seems only fitting that you should hide one in their honor.
This letterbox is dedicated to AJ.JR. If you've geocached at all in Arizona then you've come across his name at least once. He has over 10 K finds, far eclipsing my entire team. He loves climbing up steep hills to find ammocans. So AJ.Jr, here's to you. This letterbox contains a hard carved stamp that is intended to be a likeness, not caricature. It should be obvious that OPJim has no artistic ability.
This is almost a park and grab: but involves a scramble up a short steep hill. In dry weather any car should be able to navigate the road. The cache is located just under 100 feet due south of the posted coordinates. Look up the hill for a ponderosa pine and walk in that direction at 168 degrees. Just past the pine but before the Utah juniper is a location where to continue climbing would require about a 4 foot rock scale. You will be just past the balanced rock on the left. At this point look right, into the rocks for the obvious geocachers rock pile at chest height. Use the spoiler pictures if needed.
