The war memorial in Lode is a granite Celtic cross on a square tapering plinth on a two stepped base, set in an area outside the church wall backed by a semi-circular wall. The re-setting of the wall and creation of the space was achieved in 1922 with a grant. Since the church has a Church Micro, this one has to be a Multi.
The curved wall at the back of the monument commemorates “the men of the parish of Lode who fell in the war of 1939-1945”. If, for example, L is the number of letters in the name (i.e. surname or given name) starting with L, then the cache is at:
N52° 14.(N/2)(L + 1)(A – 1) E000° 14.(P + 3)(N/3)(D + 3)
If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Just-us-Two know first at justustwo1013@gmail.com so they can keep track of the memorial numbers and names to avoid any duplication.
