A simple multi cache to remember those who died from the village of Worlington during the First and Second World Wars.
The memorial is located at the junction of Freckenham Road and Church Lane not far from the village sign. It’s an obelisk made of Sicilian marble and features 45 names. Set on top of a three step block, it is surrounded by a black metal railing fence.
It was unveiled on 4 March 1920 by Major-General The Hon J E Lindley.
To find the cache you need to make a quick visit to the memorial to gather the following numbers:
- How many privates have the surname Shinn? = A
- What number of regiment did J H Butcher serve in? = B
- Looking at all sides of the memorial, how many Collen’s are named? = C
- How many men are listed on the memorial for the 2nd world war (1939-45)? = D
The cache is a little walk away at:

E 000. 29. (Dx2) (C+A) B
Please note - there isn’t any parking at the final GZ.
