Geocache Description:

Back in the last century the Committee for Peaceful Conflict (CPC) was established as a special access program (SAP) for the Department of Defense (DOD) and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) for the development of humane weaponry and warfare.

According to the CPC’s charter, “Traditional warfare decimates entire population centers; this renders natural resource reserves virtually worthless by destroying vital transportation routes and causing billions of dollars in property damage.” For its first effort the CPC embarked on a multistage project to develop a virus that takes away a person’s ability to talk. When a person is infected with the virus, “their entire symbolic capacity is eliminated on the cognitive level. They lose the ability to use and understand symbols, language, and words.”

They succeeded. Not only that, the virus escaped the lab and infected a whole city in Ohio. The work is documented in the book Just a Couple of Days though because of the nature of the project, it was released as a book of fiction. Many of the details have been severely obfuscated. If it were released today it could have been non-fiction based upon alternative facts.

Even though this particular project involved the manipulation of genomes, it was based upon work done by Dr. Gaston Tuyau a preeminent expert in quantum chromodynamics (called Gas by his intimate friends for various reasons, some of which should be left to the imagination). As part of his work on color charged particles such as quarks, antiquarks, gluons, leptons, bosons, baryons, mesons, and hadrons he discovered that they are sentient. Not only do they communicate, but they form family units called glueballs. The communications between these particles serve as the basis for all communications between sentient objects; at least those currently known.

Unfortunately Gas was one of the unfortunate persons infected with the virus. One of his last “communication acts” was to destroy everything about of his work at the CPC labs except for his findings that he had written up for publication in Nuclear and Particle Physics Proceedings. This he saved and hid. He wrote up instructions on how to find his notes should they be really needed and gave them to one of his colleagues, a Dr. Flake Fountain.

We need to find the notes as soon as possible—the CPC still exists. Now there is a move afoot to use Gas’ research to develop some new weaponry. Lord help us!

Please make sure the container is at the very bottom before returning to its proper place. Thanks.

Congratulations to bobbybadbad & BurkoCat for the FTF!
