Bull Street was chosen as one of the new stops for the Midland Metro when the first extension of Line 1 was planned in 2012, it opened on 6th December 2015. Initially it was then the southern terminus, replacing the old terminus at Snow Hill Station, until the track to Grand Central was opened in May 2016. Officially, this is now the listed stop for passengers wishing to change to national main line rail services operating on the Chiltern Line.
