The Cache was hiden during a two day hike in Akamas area with my friends and Scout Leaders of the 40th Scout Troop.
You may reach the cache area following the trail that starts from Smigies picnic site near Neo Chorio , within the Akamas region.

In various parts of Cyprus there are towers, which are
related to Rigena( QUEEN). One of these towers, according to local traditions,
appears to be on the top of Akama, west of the well-known location of Aphrodite
Baths. Nevertheless, after archaeological research, it was revealed that the
tower was eventually the remains of a Byzantine monastery.
The monastery, which still bears the name "Tower of Rigena", is situated in a wonderful valley, unseen by the sea, probably not being an easy target for pirates. It is a rectangular stone-built building with wings on all sides.
The temple, which was at the center of the inner courtyard, was a one-aisled temple, which seems to have been frescoed. The dating of the monastery dates from the 11th to the 12th century, a period of many monasteries on the island, and various modifications and additions appear to have taken place later in the Frankish period
