Geocache Description:

The Brim Brook is a tributary of the West Okement River and as such is in one of the most remote areas of the north moor of Dartmoor. As with most Dartmoor rivers, it is not easy to locate its exact head, which will vary considerably with the time of year and the amount of rainfall. The cache is located near to the head of one arm of the brook, but the other arm is fed from numerous bog pools further up the valley, see photo.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This cache is located within the Okehampton Military Range where live firing occurs. You must check out the Firing Notices before entering the range. DO NOT ENTER THE RANGE WHEN THE RED FLAGS ARE FLYING. Never pick up any objects, they may be unexploded devices.

The weather on Dartmoor can change suddenly and unexpectedly and ALL types of weather conditions can be experienced. Please ensure that you have the correct clothing and map & compass (and know how to use them). Please do NOT rely solely on your GPS.

I would like to thank the Dartmoor National Park Authority for their kind permission to place this cache, which has been placed according to the geocaching guidelines.
