G'day mate 'ow ya going! Fair suck of the sav mate you're obviously trying to have a lend of me or ya think I'm not the full quid this is a pub so ya gotta serve beers here and I've come from Oona Woop Woop so I'm as dry as a dead dingo's donger and I want a nice cold one now!
Ok, enough of the Australian speak! You will win a prize if you can translate this correctly at the event.
Australian slang has quite a few opposites in it; they use these to describe people sometimes. Bluey is a red-headed person, Stretch for a short person, Shorty for a tall person, Rowdy for a quiet person, Curly for a bald person. I think we will be able to match some cachers to these Australian descriptions at the event.
Australia has a lot of interesting sporting events (besides rugby), like the Cockroach World Championship in Brisbane every Australia Day, Pig Racing at The Royal Melbourne Show, Sheep Racing at the annual Booligal Cup New South Wales, Frog Races at the Noonamah Pub in the Top End on Melbourne Cup Day, etc.
An annual Darwin Beer Can Regatta is held at Mindil Beach in the Northern Territory. All the boats are made from used beer cans, or soft drink cans (for the kids). I thought it would be a great idea to do this as a fun Australia day activity at the event. Please bring along some glue and rope, we will empty the cans at the event! Lets build a BIG boat and take some pics mates!
