Geocache Description:

A fairly simple trail of 15 caches, including a bonus cache, taking you on a ramble around and over Roos Tor of approximately 4.5 miles in length.  There are reasonable paths on much of the route, but not between RTR06 and RTR08 which is typical moorland grass, although fairly dry, even in winter.

This is not being promoted specifically as family friendly, although most families would have no problems and I have left some swag in some of the caches, almost all of which are large enough for trackables.

There are only 6 bonus numbers to collect and each of these is repeated in a second cache.

After this cache the terrain becomes more difficult and there are very few paths. This only lasts for the next two caches.

None of the caches in this series are in the Merrivale Live Firing Range and you can attempt all caches even if the red flags are flying, which you will need to pass. However, it is possible on firing days that you could be stopped and asked for details of your route.

The weather on Dartmoor can change suddenly and unexpectedly and ALL types of weather conditions can be experienced. Please ensure that you have the correct clothing and map & compass (and know how to use them). Please do NOT rely solely on your GPS.

I would like to thank the Dartmoor National Park Authority for considering and approving my request to allow caches to be placed on Roos Tor. This cache has been placed according to the DNPA geocaching guidelines, which now also apply to this area.
