Le Limousin entretient une tradition d’élevage qui a fait sa réputation. Cette réputation tient en premier lieu à la tradition de production herbagère et en second lieu au savoir-faire des éleveurs en matière de conduite des animaux et de sélection génétique pour la production de viande.
Au nord, mais pas seulement, les bovins du Limousin sont réputés pour leur qualité depuis plusieurs siècles et désormais sous l’appellation officielle Boeuf du Limousin. La viande de Bœuf Limousin Label Rouge correspond à des animaux exclusivement de race Limousine âgés de plus de 28 mois et de moins de 10 ans. Seules les meilleures carcasses ont accès au Label Rouge en fonction des critères de conformation, d’état d’engraissement, de poids minimum, de fourchette d’âge, etc.
Sur le plateau de Millevaches, donc à l’est, vous trouverez l’élevage ovin qui, en Limousin remonte probablement au Néolithique (5 000 ans avant J.C.). Turgot tenta d’améliorer l’élevage de la région. Il offre des primes à l’abattage des loups, fait introduire différentes races ovines et fait distribuer des rouets aux habitants. La Haute Vienne est le premier département français pour la production d’agneaux. L’IGP (Indication Géographique Protégée) "Agneau du Limousin" désigne un agneau né, élevé et abattu dans les départements de la Corrèze, de la Creuse et de la Haute-Vienne.
L'énigme
L’abattoir n’est qu’un prétexte pour vous conduire sur le site d'une belle vue peu connue de Limoges que vous pourrez découvrir légèrement en contrebas de la cache. Pour parvenir à ces cordonnées il vous faudra d’abord passer par l’abattoir pour faire votre marché.
Il vous faudra tout d’abord quelques morceaux d’agneau :
Gigot, Selle, Collier, Haut de côtes et Poitrine.
Vous pourrez alors calculer la formule

Ensuite vous passerez au rayon du bœuf pour y prendre du Rond de gîte, du Faux-filet, des Basses-côtes et enfin du Filet.

Pourquoi "VERT"
Ma première cache posée (GC3VHY2) était une boîte verte, avec un stylo vert, un log book vert et des objets d'échange verts. Ainsi est née l'idée de placer les caches qui ont suivi sous le signe du "VERT" et de proposer un challenge consistant à y déposer de préférence des objets "VERTs". Ce challenge ne peut malheureusement pas concerner les caches de taille nano ou micro mais l'utilisation d'un stylo VERT reste possible

Why "VERT" ?
My first put geocache (GC3VHY2) was a green box, with a green pen, a green log portfolio and green items of exchange. So was born the idea to place the geocaches which followed under the sign of the "VERT" and to propose a challenge consisting in depositing there rather "GREEN" objects. This challenge cannot unfortunately concern the geocaches of nano size or micro size but the use of a GREEN pen remains possible
