A 12044 ft peak nestled in the La Plata mountains.
This cache is for those who believe, "When in doubt- go higher." This starts as a drive, the last 1/2 mile of which is either a moderate hike or hair-raising 4WD on some mining roads. The next 1/2 mile hike is is beautiful- above the tree-line between Helmet and Hesperus Peaks.
I wouldn't recommend venturing all the way up if there was the possibility of thunderstorms. This would be 5+ difficulty in winter because of the chance of avalanche.
The Virtual Cache is (a pair) of circular stone wall shelters at the peak.
Note: in one of the shelters someone has built a 'shrine' to their friend Dizzo- please respect these items and do NOT take anything from the larger of the two stone shelters. Judging by the items in the shrine, Dizzo's motto may have been, "When in doubt get higher!"
If you wish- leave additional items in the smaller of the two shelters.
