Geocache Description:

Cache is a micro tin. Really interesting area, but watch your feet and where you step as there is old rusty nails and unstable structures.

Sulphur used to be a real town. Now it is a mining operation run by Allied Nevada Gold Corp. and is known as the Hycroft Mine. You can get there by heading east out out of Gerlach, Nevada (about 45 miles) on Rt 49, also called Trego Road, also called Jungo Road. No matter what you call it it is rough as hell and wash boarded almost 65% of the way. You can also get there from Rt 80 and the town of Winnemucca, Nevada (about 56 miles). Road is a 'little' better to Sulphur but then past that, heading for Gerlach, and the road leaves a lot to be desired. The mine encompasses approximately 61,389 acres, including both patented and un patented claims. While in production under previous owners (1987-1998), Hycroft produced over one million ounces of gold using an open pit heap leaching process. You won't see much of the mining operation, you don't see them but they are watching you. Source used: http://www.rimworld.com/brx/sulphur/index.html

If you want to see the old Sulphur mine, Than cross the railroad tracks directly across for the cache.
