Geocache Description:

One of the series of Mystery caches forming the geo-art of Tasmania.

Cape Portland (indigenous name: Lumaranatana) is both a geographical feature and a locality near the north-eastern tip of Tasmania, Australia. It points west across Ringarooma Bay. It was named after the Duke of Portland by Matthew Flinders during his 1798 circumnavigation of the island in the sloop Norfolk with George Bass.

Cape Portland had a Post Office which opened on 6 April 1865 (first as a receiving house) and finally closed in 1918.

It is the site of the 67 km2 Cape Portland Important Bird Area which includes the cape itself, some adjacent land, a strip of coastline east of the cape extending to Policeman’s Point at the mouth of Ansons Bay, and nearby Swan Island. This area supports more than 1% of the world population of the Cape Barren Goose, Chestnut Teal and the near threatened Hooded Plover. It also occasionally supports large numbers of Pied Oystercatchers, Double-banded Plovers and breeding Fairy Terns.

The cache is not at the published coordinates.

SKYSCRAPERS

We figured that at this location, Cape Portland, should never have to fear the development of any real-life Skyscrapers, not like the capital of Tasmania, Hobart where resistance to high-rise seems to colour many of the arguments.  But to have some fun, we have given you an imaginary city of skyscrapers to complete.

This is a Japanese game similar to Sudoku. To play, imagine you are standing on the edge of the grid at the arrow, and are facing a series of skyscrapers. There are 7 in each column and row, from 1 to 7 stories high. You can only see the number of skyscrapers shown next to each arrow (taller buildings will block your view of shorter ones), and you need to determine where each building is located, and place the height of the building in the box.

You are NOT searching for coordinates. Enter the number string indicated by the colour sequence into the checker (no spaces) to receive coordinates for the final location.

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.

Well done to mr_johna for FTF and congratulations to whitewebbs on being the first team to complete "The Map of Tassie".
