Geocache Description:

This is a multi-cache which takes you to 2 Little Bridges that are close together. The first bridge is at the posted co-ordinate and the second bridge is at the other waypoint: N51 26.539 W002 30.549

Answer the following questions to find the cache co-ordinate:

A. Look at both bridges, what generic material are they made from? (Count the number of letters in the answer).

B. Locate the bench-seat, across left of the second bridge. Sadly, there is a recently broken plaque on the seat dedicated to David & Diane Reade, both have forenames starting with the same letter. What is the letter value of this initial letter?

C. How many lines of writing does the plaque have? Roman V.

D. E. F. G. H. J. The last line gives the acronym HDGBCS for what they were founders of. What are the letter values of those 6 letters?

Answers checksum = 56

Substitute the letters below for your corresponding number answers and do the calculations, to find the cache co-ordinate:

N51 26 . (D - H) (C + G) (A + H) W002 30 . (G X H) (B - E) (J - (F + A))

The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast, Damian from Winter Foxes has created and updates a list of cachers who has found 10 or more little bridges and can be found here, if you would like to add to the series, please contact Stan on stanthews@aol.com and he will give you a number for your bridge, to qualify, the bridge must be a foot bridge too small for vehicles, please make sure your title exactly matches “Little Bridges # xx then name” including spaces so it will get picked up and added to Damian’s list.
