Bēgošais Dūkupju ūdenskritums atrodas Nīcas novadā uz Dūkupju strauta, kurš ietek Bārtas upē, aptuveni 100-120m attālumā no Bārtas upes labā krasta.
Ūdenskrituma aptuvenais augstums 2.2m un tas sastāv no diviem pakāpieniem. Pirms augšējā ūdenskrituma pakāpiena strauta ūdens iegūst paātrinājumu 4-5m garā posmā ar 1m kritumu. Augšējais pakāpiens ir aptuveni 0,8m augsts, bet apakšējais pakāpiens aptuveni 1,7m augstumā. Dūkupju ūdenskritums tek cauri cietajam, bet irdenajam morēnas slānim un katru gadu lēnām atkāpjas no Bārtas upes. Šis ir viens no visaugstākajiem dabiskajiem ūdenskritumiem un augstākais morēnas ūdenskritums Latvijā.
Dūkupju ūdenskrituma pamatiezis – morēna izveidojās vēl kūstot ledājam. Šajā vietā pirms 10 000 gadiem atradās aptuveni kilometru bieza ledus kārta. Ledājam virzoties, tas ierāva sevī iežus un minerālus no teritorijas, par kuru tas pārvietojās pāri. Vēlāk, ledāja plūsmai aprimstot un ledum izkūstot, tā pārvietotais iežu materiāls nogula uz zemes virsmas. Tā radās morēnās jeb ledāja nogulumi, kas pašreiz klāj ļoti plašu Latvijas teritoriju. Ar šo iezi Latvijas upes pēc ledāja atkāpšanās saskārās vispirms un veidoja neskaitāmus ūdenskritumus, kuri krita pār morēnu. Mūsdienās šādi dabas veidojumi ir īsts retums un sastopami vien dažviet Baltijā.
Par slēpni
Pats slēpnis atrodas strauta labā krastā starp ūdenskritumu un labiekārtoto atpūtas vietu. Pie slēpņa var piekļūt kājām ejot gar grāvi, apmēram 500 metrus attālumā, un jārēķinās, kad tas ir jāšķērso vai arī laivojot no Bārtas upes puses. Upes labajā krastā, kur ietek Dūkupju strauts, vienā pusē ir marķēta zīme, bet otrā pusē koka pakāpieni ar taku uz izveidotu atpūtas vietu pie ūdenskrituma.
Grūtības piekļuves pakāpe pie slēpņa ir mainīga(2,5 - 3), jo atkarīga no sezonas ierobežojumiem - zaļās veģetācijas un ūdens daudzumu apvidū.

The Fugitive Waterfall Dukupju is located in the Nica(Nīca) district on the Dukupe stream, which flows into the River Barta(Bārta), about 100-120 m from the right bank of the River Barta.
The approximate height of the waterfall is 2.2m and consists of two steps. Before the upper waterfall step, the water gets an acceleration in the 4-5 m long section with a 1m drop. The upper step is about 0.8m high, but the lower step is about 1.7m high. The Waterfall Dukupju flows through the thick, loose moraine layer and every year it steps back from the River Barta. This is one of the highest natural waterfalls and the highest moraine waterfall in Latvia.
The bedrock of Dūkupju waterfall – moraine formed at the time of ice melting. By the way, this place was covered with about a kilometre thick ice layer 10 000 years ago. When the glacier started moving, it grabbed rocks and minerals from the territory it moved over. Later the flood stream slowed down and melted, the gathered rock matterial settled on the surface of the earth. That is how moraine or ice sediments derived and they cover a vast territory in Latvia. Rivers in Latvia encountered with this rock after the ice receded and it formed innumerable waterfalls that fell over the moraine. Nowadays these kind of natural formations are very rare and found only in some places in the Baltic countries.
About cache
The cache hiding place lies on the right bank of the stream between the waterfall and the landscaped resting place at the waterfall. The cache can be accessed by foot for about of 500 meters along the ditch and should be considered when it has to cross or by boat from the River Barta. On the right bank of the river, where the Dūkupiu stream flows, there is a marked sign on one side of bank, and on the other side of bank is wooden steps with a pathway to resting place at the waterfall.
The difficulty of access to the cache is variable(2,5 - 3) and depends on the season limitations - the green stage of vegetation and the amount of water in the area.
Dress code - I recommend rubber boots, but the decision of proper clothes is on your responsibility.
Be careful down the waterfall - the banks of the stream can be slippery and dangerous, at least 5m high!
