Geocache Description:

Introducing the first "Little Bridges Series" cache for Norwich. This cache is near a working railway line and river. Please keep children, dogs and excited grown ups under control. Parking is Not allowed along Whitlingham Road, this area is monitored by parking camera. Please park along Yarmouth Road. For step free access use bungalow lane. Gloves would be useful. BYOP.

A cache placed in Thorpe marshes nature reserve, this reserve was formed after some quarrying work was carried out? The bridge was the original footbridge for Whitlingham railway station which was opened Oct 1874 and served the people of Thorpe until Sep 1955 when it closed to passengers. The nature reserve is a peaceful haven, an escape from city life where you can see many birds, cattle and even Muntjac deer plus many insects etc. So after finding the cache why not follow the path around the edge of the reserve and take the exit onto the track back to the road. You are looking for a disguised micro. Thanks to Norfolk wildlife trust for permission for this cache.

The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast. If you would like to add to the series, please contact Stan on stanthews@aol.com and he will give you a number for your bridge, to qualify, the bridge must be a foot bridge too small for vehicles, please make sure your title exactly matches “Little Bridges # xxxx then the name” including spaces so it will get picked up and added to stats list.

When I'm out caching I carry a supply of replacement log sheets so that I can help out the cache owner by carrying out any maintenance that's required.

If anybody would like to replace any logs that need urgent servicing in my caches, please do so.
