Not very well known despite being on many of the Dartmoor OS maps or maybe not very well loved or visited, possibly in part due to the lovely old finger post pointing the way which has gone missing. Hingston Rock is one of the more difficult ones to reach which may account for it being less visited. If you do visit you will be rewarded with stunning Dartmoor views to Haytor the high moors and Moretonhampstead.
Before you visit you should know that for the first 5-10 mins of your walk you will be on clearly defined but seldom trodden paths. After that it gets a bit wild. The path is there somewhere but it is kind of losing a battle with the Brambles and Bracken. You attempt this cache at your own risk. Mind you, the more visitors it gets the more trodden the path will become.
