I discovered this little church when visiting the Anglican church across the road. Blink and you could miss it! With caches at the other two I couldn’t leave this one out. I’d pulled into the car park and was greeted a few minutes later by the retired Priest who lives nearby. He kindly offered to open the church so that I could look inside.
Apparently there was a garage on the site where the church now stands. When the owner died the building and land was given to the Catholic diocese and the church was built.
The interior took me completely by surprise. The stone walls and the fantastic stained glass above the entrance gives the church lovely warm and cared for feeling.
Dedicated to St peter, the glass was designed by a parishioner. Smaller stained glass panels are sited on the east wall and were also made by a local couple. They commemorate the lost and the dead. The Stations of the Cross can be seen on the walls. They were made in Italy and shipped over to adorn the walls.
