ST WILFRID, HONINGTON
St Wilfrid, Honington is a Grade I listed building, achieving the status on 20 September 1966.
The earliest built part of the church, the nave, dates from C11th. St Wilfrid's has been added to in most centuries since then up until the C20th.
The west tower is made of three stages and built in the C13th.
Unusually for a church, it has a boiler house dated from the C20th.
The roof of the nave dates from C15th and the timbers are still original.
What is now the vestry was originally the morturary chapel of the Hussey family and is paved in black and white marble.
The altar and all internal fittings date from C19th except the altar rails which date from C17th.
The octagonal font is C15th and is housed under the tower.
There are also several monuments in the church, all dedicated to the Hussey family.
