Je vous propose de vous faire redécouvrir la place Stanislas et plus précisément la statue de Stanislas au centre de la place.
La renommée de la Place Stanislas n'est plus à faire mais un détail de la place est moins connu.
Mais que montre Stanislas avec son index ? Plusieurs hypothèses courent...
Son index serait pointé en direction de sa Pologne natale, ou d'anciens lieux de débauche de la vieille ville, ou encore le palais du gouverneur, ...
Les documents officiels racontent qu'il pointerait en direction du médaillon de la porte Héré où est représenté Louis XV.
Sauf qu'en vous rendant sur place vous pourrez constater que ça n'est pas exactement sa direction. En scrutant cette autre direction le regard se prolonge vers ce mystérieux itinéraire " La ligne géodésique ".
Cette ligne vous entraîne dans une rotation complète autour de la terre avant de revenir au point de départ : la place Stanislas.

I propose you to rediscover the Place Stanislas and more precisely the statue of Stanislas in the center of the place
The fame of the Place Stanislas is no longer to be made but a detail of the place is less known.
But what does Stanislas show with his index finger? Several hypotheses run ... His index finger would be pointed in the direction of his native Poland, or former places of debauchery of the old city, the palace of the governor, ... The official documents state that he would point in the direction of the medallion of the Porte Héré where Louis XV is depicted. Except that by visiting you will find that it is not exactly its direction. Looking at this other direction the gaze is extended to this mysterious itinerary "The geodetic line". This line takes you in a complete rotation around the ground before returning to the starting point: the place Stanislas.
