Par cette cache Virtuelle, je vais vous faire découvrir un lieu mais aussi un personnage important de l'aviation française qui a contribué grace à son musée et à son Amicale à la mémoire de l'aviation.
Jean-Baptiste Salis est un aviateur français, né à Montmorin (Puy-de-Dôme) le 19 septembre 1896, et mort à Cerny (Essonne) le 10 décembre 1967
D'abord mécanicien, il devient pilote militaire au cours de la premiere Guerre mondiale, puis pilote d'éssai.
En 1937, il commence à collectionner et à restaurer des avions anciens. Il s'installe à Cerny (Essonne) et crée l'aérodrome de la Ferté-Alais. C'est là qu'est fondée l'association qui deviendra l'Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis. Après sa mort, son fils Jean et sa fille Irène reprirent le flambeau.

Chaque fois que je monte la haut, c'est avec les yeux d'un gamin que je vois décoler ces avions d'une autre époque. La vue est un sens essentiel pour le géocacheur mais comment lire sans ce sens...

In 1937, he begins to collect and to restore former planes. He settles down to Cerny (Essonne) and creates the aerodrome of Ferté-Alais. It is there that is based the association which will become Friendly Jean-Baptiste Salis. After her death, her son Jean and his daughter Irène took up the torch.
