Nyboder is an area of houses in Copenhagen that were built first to house sailors in the Danish Navy in 17th and 18th centuries. First planned in the time of Christian IV, the first stage of house-building happened between 1631 and 1641. Later additions were still being built as late as 1795.
Since 2006, the houses have become available to non-military residents
The distinctive yellow colour, known as "Nyboder yellow", is not original. In the early years of Nyboder, the houses were red and white.
Central to Nyboder is Sankt Pauls Kirke, St. Paul's Church, a brick-built church from the 1870s (Christian IX). To log this cache, you'll need to find a place where you can see the spire of Sankt Pauls Kirke.
One of the things that strikes me about the Nyboder houses is how small some of the doors are. It makes me feel like a giant, even though I am average height.
To help you feel like a giant, and to log this cache, you must take a photograph of your hand "on top" of the spire. See my examples for how it can be done either by a friend, or as a selfie. As long as we can see your hand on top of the spire, and we can see that it really is Sankt Pauls Kirke, you can log the cache.

Nyboder er et område af huse i København, der oprindeligt blev bygget i det 17. og 18. århundrede, for at huse sømænd i den danske flåde Opførelsen blev iværksat under Christian d. 4., og de første huse blev bygget mellem 1631 og 1641. Senere tilføjelser blev bygget så sent som i 1795.
