This installation of Latvian artist Kārlis Ile is dedicated to the centennial of the Republic of Latvia.
There are 10 stylized human figures arranged in a circle, simbolyzing the many people who were involved in the formation and development of the State of Latvia. Each of them holds 10 stones, 100 stones in total, symbolizing the years of existence of Latvia and being an artistic representation resembling that these 100 years have not been easy. They represent the importance and burdens of these times, which the nation has carried on its shoulders. On the polished surfaces of these figures, everyone can see their reflection, thus emphasizing that each of us is a part of this country. Ray-styled paving of square where the holders of Latvia stand symbolizes the wheel of time spinning throw decades.
