Geocache Description:

PRESENTS

Welcome to the Baldivis Children's Forest!

This Children’s Forest is built on community, ever since a small group of people came together in 1982 with a vision to serve the local community as a centre point for environmental education. Community workshops and events are held every week in the forest. The weekly workshops focus on activities that build creativity and resilience in a natural bush setting.

The Baldivis Children’s Forest is always looking for volunteer support to help run their programs. From tree planters, book-keepers to marketers, or just a pair of hands or a good sense of humour, they value the amazing contributions all volunteers make.

So come on down geocachers -
come and get your hands dirty and help make a difference here in the forest.

When: Sunday 10th September, 2.00 - 4.00pm

Where: Baldivis Children's Forest

We will be meeting at the posted co-ordinates at 2.00pm before starting work. We will need to cover a brief safety talk and explain what tasks the Baldivis Children's Forest would like us to help with.

You can sign your attendance in the cache log and we will take a picture of the group before heading off. The plan will be to tackle some tree planting as well as some invasive species weed removal within the forest.

This CITO Event should last for at least an hour or so.

Where is the Baldivis Children's Forest?

It is on Mandurah Road, Baldivis, opposite Lake Walyungup (despite google maps saying the Children's Forest is on the lake side of the road). Once you arrive at the main gate, someone will direct you where to park.

What to Bring?

Hat, Sturdy Shoes, Long Sleeve Shirt, Long Pants, Sunscreen, Insect Repellant, Drinking Water, Gloves.

Please post your 'Will Attend' log if you are able to lend a hand and we look forward to seeing you on the day!

"take nothing but photos (and a sense of achievement),
kill nothing but time (and weeds),
leave nothing but footprints (and healthy young trees)"

What is a CITO event?

Cache In Trash Out® events bring geocachers together to care for the geocaching game board: planet Earth. CITO events might focus on tree planting, litter pick up, or even habitat restoration. They’re a chance for geocachers to give back to their local spaces and communities.
