This geocache is hidden on Ramsley Common which is named after the nearby Ramsley Copper Mine. The mine operated from c. 1850 until it closed in 1909. The mine was an important source of wealth for the area, and provided many jobs for the local people. Since the mine closed the area has been turned into a common area, which is often used by dog walkers. It provides a mixture of interesting archaeological remains, related to the copper mine, as well as lovely views of the surrounding areas. Views include the lower slopes of Cosdon and the village of South Zeal.
This cache is hidden in a location with superb views over South Zeal, and the nearby information board gives further information on the view. The location of this cache is directly above the location of the old mine shaft. You are looking for a sneakily hidden small Tupperware box.
