Le renom en vola si loin qu'ils y venaient de Paris et y ai vu 2 à 3 mille personnes. J'y séjournai deux jours et demi".

L'eau minérale de la Roche Posay est puisée dans les assises crayeuses du Turonien*, faiblement minéralisée, c'est une eau bicarbonatée calcique et silicatée.
* Le Turonien est un étage stratigraphique du Crétacé supérieur. On le situe entre -93,9 et -89,8 ± 0,3 Ma1, après le Cénomanien et avant le Coniacien. Le Turonien revêt un faciès lithologique détritique constitué à la base par des sables, devenant peu à peu marneux avec inocérames, puis par une craie détritique appelée tuffeau
