You are invited to join us for a meet & greet potluck picnic with prizes and surprises from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park on the beautiful Sebec River in Milo, Maine.
UPDATE: WE WILL HAVE AT LEAST 6 NEW CACHES PUBLISHED THE DAY OF THE EVENT!!
The picnic will be potluck style-- bring a sandwich or something to grill for your own group, and if possible, bring a food item to share (chips, salad, dessert, etc.) Water, plates, napkins, utensils, and cups will be provided, but any donations of items would be appreciated. There is only one charcoal grill (we will have it ready) and one electrical outlet available, so cold foods might be best. We will have tables, but please bring your own folding chairs if possible. (Note: The park is wheelchair accessible, but the portable restroom will not accommodate one. However, there is a grocery store nearby.)
We will have a geocaching icebreaker and a chance to share our funniest caching stories, a prize for the cacher who travels the farthest from their home coordinates, a prize for the person who brings the most trackables to discover or trade, a prize for the winner of a geocaching trivia contest, recognition for veterans, and some nice FTF prizes for at least 6 new caches to be published sometime during the event! Come early to hike and enjoy spectacular foliage in the greater Three Rivers area. You could also bring your fishing poles or kayaks for the Sebec River (swimming is prohibited).
We would love to have you bring any muggles who are interested in learning more about geocaching! There are many opportunities for caching in the greater Milo area. Please respond if you are able to attend, and it would be helpful to list any food you plan to bring so we have a good variety. We hope to see you!
(NOTE: In case of rain, the event will be held downstairs at nearby United Baptist Church, 8 Pleasant St, Milo. [N45 15.252; W068 59.155] This is the big white church between the Milo Town Office and Post Office. Enter through the door out back under the ramp. Check back here the morning of the event for any weather-related updates.)
