Container und Gräber Traditional Geocache

Dort, wo die Hamburger Hafengesellschaft (HHLA) momentan ihr Containerterminal Altenwerder (CTA) in Betrieb nimmt, stand vor einigen Jahren noch das Dorf Altenwerder. Die Bewohner sind längst umgesiedelt, das Dorf existiert nicht mehr. Nur die Kirche St.Gertrud und den Friedhof daneben gibt es noch, und beide sind nach wie vor in Betrieb. Drumherum dagegen ist einerseits Wildnis und Mondlandschaft, andererseits das modernste Containerterminal weltweit. Und in der Wildnis liegt der Cache.

Wildnis ist dabei ziemlich wörtlich zu nehmen, daher auch die Terrain-Bewertung. Wenn es vorher geregnet hat, sollte man schon Regensachen und Gummistiefel mitnehmen -- eventuell machen die Mücken und die Brennnesseln die Sache etwas schwieriger.... ;-)

Containers and Tombs

In the area where the Hamburg harbour company (HHLA) currently is beginning operation of the Container Terminal Altenwerder (CTA) some years ago the old village of Altenwerder was located. The inhabitants were resettled long ago, the village has disappeared. Only the church St. Gertrud and the encompassing cemetery are still there, and both are still used. Around is, on the one hand, wilderness and moonscape and, on the other hand, the world's most advanced container terminal. And in the wilderness the cache is concealed.

The term 'wilderness' might be taken literally, therefore the terrain classification. If it has rained before, you should have rainwear and a pair of rubber boots with you. The mitches and the stinging-nettles might also be an inconvienience.... ;-)
