Jelgavas Vecpilsēta ir vecākā pilsētas apbūves daļa ar koka ēkām, kas netika iznīcinātas II Pasaules kara laikā. Apbūves rajons veidojies laikā no 18. līdz 19. gadsimtam. Šī ir īstā vieta senās pilsētas gaisotnes baudīšanai un pastaigām. Iesakām nobaudīt gardu maltīti krodziņā „Pie mednieka”.

2010. gadā tika veikti Vecpilsētas labiekārtošanas darbi - atjaunotas ielu braucamās daļas un ietves, saglabājot bruģakmens segumu, uzstādītas laternas un soliņi, kā arī vēsturisko Dobeles vārtu piemiņas zīme. Vecpilsētas ieliņās izvietoti informatīvie stendi un planšetes, kas atspoguļo tūrisma objektus Jelgavā un sniedz unikālu informāciju par pilsētu dažādos laika periodos, iesakot maršrutu pa rekonstruēto ielu rajonu.
