The River Coe runs through Glencoe village and then out into Loch Leven at Invercoe.
A track leads from just beyond the bridge over the river at the Eastern end of the village, through some woodland, behind the caravan park and then joins the Kinlochleven road.
From the bridge the track initially goes along beside the river. Soon after this the river passes over a series of small waterfalls and through a stretch of highly sculpted limestone rocks, then down into an artificially constructed pool originally made for fishing.
Fish including wild salmon and sea-trout can very occasionally be seen rushing through the crystal clear waters of this stretch of river.
The rock formations here are well worth seeing and will keep photographers particularly happy.
They are however very uneven in places and can be slippery: the river is also very powerful and turbulent here especially after rain, so slipping in is well worth avoiding! Take care if you choose to explore here.
The cache however is well away from the rocks on a mound between the track and the river.
