Mit einem Gebiet von der Nordsee im Norden bis zu den Alpen im Süden ist Deutschland das EU-Land mit der höchsten Einwohnerzahl. Deutschland grenzt im Norden an Dänemark, im Osten an Polen und derTschechischen Republik, im Süden an Österreich und die Schweiz, im Nordwesten an Frankreich und Luxemburg und im Südwesten an Belgien und die Niederlande.

Ein paar Zahlen über Geocaching in Deutschland:
Der erste Geocache in Deutschland wurde am 2. Oktober 2000 vom Geocacher Ferenc südlich von Berlin versteckt. Er trug den Namen „First Germany„ und ist mittlerweile archiviert. Mit über 50.000 Stück liegen die meisten Geocaches derzeit im Bundesland Nordrhein-Westfalen. Die größte Geocache-Dichte beträgt ca. 4,4 Geocaches/km² in Berlin und ca. 3,6 Geocaches/km² in Hamburg (Stand: Februar 2015) In absoluten Zahlen ist Deutschland das Land mit der höchsten Geocacheanzahl nach den USA.
In Europa gibt es über 1 Million Geocaches in 31 Ländern
• Deutschland hat mit fast 350.000 mit Abstand die meisten Geocaches
• Platz 2 belegt Großbritannien mit ca. 160.000 Geocaches.
• Platz 3 nimmt Schweden mit 70.000 Geocaches ein.
• Jeder dritte Geocache in Europa liegt in Deutschland.
