You're cordially invited to attend our 4th Annual GilSUMMER Gathering! We know we announced at the event last year that we *might not* host one this year due to home remodeling projects planned for the coming summer with a baby on the way...BUT, we did manage to wrap up the first phase of the project early and our baby girl is as sweet and easy-going as can be, so let's get on with the show! Please join us again and invite new cachers along! Like every year, it's going to be a blast!

WHAT: Start your day caching your way to Gilsum! Take a refreshing dip (or jump from a high rock and make it a SPASH!) in the Gilsum Swim Hole, convenienently located directly across the street from the event location! Then dry off by a warm campfire in the backyard, fuel up on a potluck buffet and s'mores, trade TB's and caching tales, play games, while meeting and making friends with your fellow GeoCachers! Other activities (if you have the gear) include: tubing, kayaking and fishing! They are popular along this stretch of the Asheulot River. NEW THIS YEAR: for those families with really little Littles like us, we will have an additional inflatable pool in the backyard so they can get in on the swimming fun, if you find the swim hole too ambitious! It is large enough for a couple of parents to join in; as it really should go without saying, we encourage we require that you supervise your kiddos in our pool!
WHERE: 11 Surry Rd., Gilsum NH, 03448, home of the SurryRoadSeekers.
WHEN: Sunday, August 20th, 5pm-LateThirty. Caching, Fishing, Kayaking, Tubing and Swimming are available all day (the swim hole is on public land). The campfire will be a-blazin' and the logbook open for signing at that time. Come and go as you please throughout the evening, although, certain activities, like the potluck, group photo and game activity, will occur at specific times (see itenerary below) . For those traveling a long distance, some overnight tent-camping accomodations can be made in the backyard, if you bring your own camping gear.

5pm: Official GilSUMMER Gathering start time! Campfire is lit and Log Book is open!
5pm-7pm: POTLUCK. Please bring a side dish, condiments, and/or drinks. Reference food list to see what is still needed.
6:00pm: GROUP PICTURE & MYSTERY-SUPER-CRAZY-COOL GAME ACTIVITY
6:30pm-Late: S'Mores & Campfire Company!
9pm: Logbook Closes!
Late-9am: Tent Camping Accommodations upon Advance Request.
Potuck: The main course is hamburgers and hotdogs courtesy of SurryRoadSeekers, (Special Thanks to our friend, Justin Baldwin, who may return this year to help with burger meat food prep, as he literally makes the BEST burgers we have EVER tasted EVER, so you're in for a real treat!) Please bring a pasta/fruit salad or other side dish, condiments, desserts and/or drinks. Please note in your log what you intend to bring so we don't end up with too much of one thing! NOTE! PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN CAMP CHAIRS! We do have some campfire seating on the patio; but we do not know how many to expect at this time, so play it safe and bring additional seats! (And then bring your seats home with you afterwards, as we have had lawn chairs left behind some years! We appreciate your donation, but we'd prefer you keep your own! lol We were not able to identify who lost them, so if you are a return cacher and see your long lost chair, please take it back!)
Additional Note on PETS : Just want to let everyone know that we do have pets. Two dogs and a cat. The latter will probably vanish like a fart in a windstorm with all the new company, but the former, named Boomy and Pax (black lab/german shepard mixes), will be in pure ecstasy by all the new visitors! They love to play fetch- so throw them a stick! You're welcome to bring your own well-behaved dog if you wish so they can all play together; just realize we have an underground fence for our dogs to roam freely in, not an actual physical barrier between the yard and road, however, their fence prevents them from being on the patio. Use your best judgment. If you or someone in your party is uncomfortable around big dogs, or you plan to bring your own dog(s), please let us know in advance so we can make the appropriate accommodations! Thanks!
